Give the Shaft to Testicular Cancer

Did you know that Apil is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month? While I may not have testicles, personally,  I certainly associate with a few folks who do. When I was asked to share some facts on Testicular Cancer with you, my dear readers, I figured I’d be nuts not to!

In my experience, and please forgive the broad generalization, but most men I know are pretty cocky. They just have an air about them where they think “this can’t happen to me.” Well, I hate to bust your balls, fellas, but here are some hard facts about Testicular Cancer:

  • One male is diagnosed with testicular cancer every hour
  • It is the most easily detected form of cancer
  • It has a 99% survival rate when caught early
  • It’s the most common cancer in males ages 15-35

In an effort to raise awareness about Testicular Cancer, Testicular Cancer Foundation + Tommy John have teamed up to spread the word. In fact, they are having an Instagram giveaway to do so! To enter, just share one of these testicular cancer info cards on Instagram using #KnowYourBalls, and tag someone who could benefit from the knowledge. Follow @TommyJohnWear and @TesticularCancerFoundation for a chance to win a $25 credit for some Tommy John underwear. If your husband is anything like mine, he could certainly use a few new pairs of underwear.

So the next time you see your husband or that guy next to you on the bus adjust themselves, give them a high five. They are just being proactive about their health, after all.
